A new blade with a rounded shape, capable of more precisely following hull lines to improve boat trim control with Interceptors. This is the latest innovation from Zipwake, a Swedish brand distributed in Italy by SAIM Marine. Zipwake is known in the industry for its wide range of Interceptor trim correctors, with more than 50,000 units sold globally. With this new offering, the company aims to further improve the performance of its attitude control systems. Here’s what makes these new rounded blades special.
Better flow and more lift
The new product is called IT400-E Round R1000, and its rounded shape allows the correctors to best fit any type of stern and different hull curvatures, improving hydrodynamic flow and increasing lift. This translates into superior efficiency while sailing, improved boat stability, greater comfort on board and significant fuel savings. With these features, the new blade offers new installation possibilities and, together with straight, tunnel, V-profile and “chine” blades, brings to 25 the total number of possible configurations for installing Interceptors on hulls of any shape.
Advanced technology and easy maintenance
At the heart of the system is an integrated servo motor, which runs on 12-24 volts and provides precise and reliable control. Water cooling ensures long-lasting performance, while the electronic control unit automates all calibrations, making operation of the system simple and intuitive even for those without special technical skills. With these new straight, tunnel, V-profile and “chine” blades, thus coming to offer 25 configurations
Zipwake. Self-cleaning for consistently top performance
An additional advantage of the system is the ability to run an automated cleaning cycle designed to prevent fouling inside the Interceptor. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining the efficiency of the entire system over time, minimizing maintenance requirements and ensuring consistent performance even under the most intense conditions of use.
