Sturdy, agile and extraordinarily promising, XO Boats launches a new 8-metre boat with a verifiably enviable performance; we’re talking about the XO DFNDR 8, the Finnish brand’s latest addition.
XO DFNDR 8
High-performance, highly versatile and available in both Open Safari and Enclosed versions, DFNDR 8 maximizes the versatiloty of the XO segment. The latest addition to XO Boats’ range is scheduled to be launched in September with a starting price of €135,000, excluding VAT.
XO DFNDR 8 – Exteriors
Thanks to a concept that is new to the segment, the XO DFNDR 8 is a boat that adapts well to its owner, while retaining its aesthetic and performance characteristics. A particularly intelligent design allows for differentiated options according to the needs of the individual user, while also allowing several alternatives to coexist.
Aluminium for a long and narrow (7.90m x 2.37m) military-inspired hull, deep V-shaped keel, and tubular hard top certainly catch the eye, letting you imagine the boat performance. But behind such an edgy appearance, aggressive if you like, there is much more. First and foremost, the hard top, which is available in two versions, which in turn are even more flexible. The Safari version, with the hard top open at the sides, allows for fully Mediterranean, open-air living, while an enclosed version allows to cope with even the most adverse weather and climate situations. Not to mention that the various additional packages include a hybrid one, which allows the open hard top to be transformed into a closed version when needed.
Ensuring maximum safety in all conditions, the bulwarks feature several handrails, while the deck is covered in non-slip materials. A combination aimed at maximising grip and stability on board. The ample space forward and aft also make the new XO DFNDR 8 a pure walkthrough, with the option of adding a forward sundeck. An ideal layout for a wide variety of activities, from fishing to a family day outing.
The bridge and t-top allow for extremely good weather adaptability, offering customisable configurations that are excellent for adapting to both climate and latitude. Lastly, the seats offer the possibility of being converted into berths, which, together with a separate toilet, optimize the possibilities, ensuring even extended trips.
XO DFNDR 8 – Propulsion
Coupled with an extremely high-performance hull, the recommended engine starts at 300 hp, but twin V6 225 hp, or single V8 450 hp variants are also available. These solutions allow overall speeds of over 50 knots, guaranteed by a 400-litre fuel tank.
Overall, the new XO DFNDR 8 is a truly promising boat, both in terms of performance and customization. An extremely versatile walkaround with powerful, sleek lines that will give future owners a lot of satisfaction.
