With September, the season of boat shows and big news will reopen, and, as often, it will be the Cannes Yachting Festival (Sept. 10-15). the highlight for many of the debutants. YOT Power Catamarans, after the launch of the first YOT 36 (we tell you about it here), will present its newest catamaran, a 12.5-meter dedicated to mid-range cruising. It will be called YOT 41 and will be an outboard catamaran, now larger, more versatile and even more dedicated to the fun and enjoyment of days on the water.
YOT 41 | Preview
Part of the Catana Group, which has been in the market for sailing and motor multihulls for more than 40 years under the Bali and Catana brands, YOT Power Catamarans is the “young” component of the group, recently established and set to offer novel solutions and alternatives to the classic multihull segments. The new YOT 41 emphasizes the chosen direction even more. Bolstered by versatile furnishings, ample outdoor space, and two 400-hp outboard V10s, the new YOT is in fact a design that looks at cruising as a time not only for pleasant relaxation, but also for fun and conviviality. To understand it better, though, here’s our preview in anticipation of its debut in Cannes and subsequent stop at the Genoa Boat Show (Sept. 19-24).
YOT 41 – Exteriors
The YOT 41, in fact, is a hull that comes across as sporty and dynamic, with powerful outboard motors and performance that cannot be underestimated. The strong point, however, is space. Indeed, it is precisely by looking at this that many design and layout choices are explained, starting with a wide maximum beam (4.8 m), but even more expandable thanks to the folding bulwarks. Solution capable of creating more than 25 square meters of cockpit area.
Then there is customization, not total, but important and easily implemented through the brand’s online configurator.
Here, past the hydraulic and central (as opposed to outboard) swim platform, one is in fact immediately immersed in a space dedicated to relaxation and comfort, designed to be able to adapt to every need. Two sundecks indeed populate this space, but with a twist: both can easily be converted into sofas, facing forward or aft, and offer a central electric table, perfect for translating them into dining areas or convivial spaces. Just across the street, open-air sofa bed and kitchen, with refrigerators recessed under the sofa, gaining even more space.
Offering shelter and protection, the wheelhouse and part of the cockpit are gathered within 270° of glazing, open at the stern, but also protected by the upper top. Just behind this full-beam windshield, the wheelhouse also finds its place, as does the walkway leading to the bow, where two additional sundecks provide a lounge that can also be used while sailing.
Interior
Voted for small and medium cruising, the YOT 41 also clearly does not lack a sleeping area suitable for its intended use. The two hulls, thus, offer twin double cabins, accommodating up to four people to sleep in comfort, thanks to a design aimed at optimizing even the most reclusive inch. Inevitably, each cabin also has its own bathroom with shower and toilet.
