ZF-Gator Tail’s GT-Z is a new air-cooled outboard that incorporates a robust transmission, the first of its kind, to ensure continuous propulsion even in harsh and extreme environments, such as marshes. This model is specially designed for situations where it would be difficult to navigate with a regular engine, and is suitable for the needs of both boaters and commercial vessels.
An outboard to sail where others cannot
From the union of the two engine manufacturers ZF and Gator Tail comes an outboard designed to be used in the most extreme situations. This new model is called GT-Z, is air-cooled is designed with a very robust transmission, and is suitable for both pleasure boaters and commercial boats.
Previewed at the last Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the project for which ZF and Gator Tail Outboards joined forces is an outboard engine that features a custom ZF transmission and a unique U-shaped drive shaft. This innovative solution enables boats using the GT-Z to traverse swamps and marshes with previously unimaginable power and reliability. The GT-Z has been field tested and proven to ensure optimal performance in extreme conditions.
The new engine enables boaters to reach speeds of up to 30 knots in any depth conditions and even swampy waters, including shallow water situations, areas with dense vegetation, mud and obstacles such as logs and stumps. Thanks to the air-cooling system, overheating-even in extreme conditions-is minimized, allowing navigation even in harsh environments.
Who ZF’s GT-Z is meant for – Gator Tail
This outboard is ideal for fishermen, both professional and amateur, small commercial and work boats, search and rescue organizations, and is protected–as standard–by a three-year warranty. The partnership between ZF, a leading manufacturer of marine propulsion systems, and Gator Tail expands opportunities for both companies, and is likely to be the first in a series of alternative designs to come to market.
